cpr-trainingIn addition to traditional care, Maylath Valley Health Systems also offers several training courses.

For qualified CPR, first-aid and AED training, you can trust the experts at Maylath Valley Health Systems.

Training can be done on-site or at the Maylath offices on Route 93 in Sybertsville.

Training offered in conjunction with the American Heart Association includes:

CPR Training

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course provides healthcare professionals with the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

According to the AHA, about 92 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital, but if more people knew CPR, more lives could be saved. Immediate CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival.

First-Aid Training

Heartsaver® First Aid teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. The course is tailored toward participants with limited or no medical training.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training

AED training is encompassed in the Heartsaver® CPR AED class that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. The course is for anyone with limited or no medical training.
